Agriturismo Scriciol

Sometimes you think of a holyday accomodation: this is too good to be true. The view, the apartment... Full of expectation we headed up the mountain towards Scriciol late in the afternoon. From the main road in San Zeno there was a small road down. Are we in the right place we asked ourselves? But suddenly we were there and we really were blown away by the truly stunning view of Lake Garda. To the west, the blood red sun was setting spectacularly behind the mountains, conjuring everything in a fairy tale light. The people of Scriciol were still busy with the completion of a wedding, but we immediately got a glass of delicious local wine pressed into our hands and took a seat on a bench with a view. This is vacation! A little later we move into our apartment. Everything is spick and span and the large terrace with table, chairs and 2 sun beds really offers that promised spectacular view of the lake. From left to right you look over at least 25 km of the lake and the mountains on the other side. Just sitting here and enjoying the view is enchanting and surprisingly different every day. Scriciol also has a restaurant. In the early and late season only open on weekends for lunch and dinner. Absolutely a must. Delicious local finger licking dishes, preferably made from their own produce (cows, pigs, chestnuts). Every morning a nice breakfast is served with breads, ham and sausages, cheeses, an egg, something sweet and of course coffee and tea. Giovanni and his family run Scriciol with great enthusiasm and he is incredibly cheerful and welcoming, giving you advice on the area and happy to make you feel at home. Our stay was really great and if we are ever near Lake Garda again we will definitely book with Giovanni!
